What is the difference between waterproof cameras and ordinary digital cameras?

Digital cameras must obtain "International Protection Level Certification", which is the common IPX coefficient, in order to be called a waterproof camera. They generally reach the highest IPX8, which means they can provide protection within 2m of water for up to 1 hour; some products will also more carefully write down the depth that they can dive into, so there is no problem even if they are in seawater for a long time. At the same time, most waterproof cameras are also equipped with sufficient anti-impact and dust-proof capabilities, so they are undoubtedly a stable and practical tool choice for those who want to take photos during outdoor activities.
